Building a personal brand and having it deliver results are critical in today’s “free agent” job market.

Here are quick steps that have worked with thousands of people around the world.

1. Identify the opportunities you want.

2. What’s the promise you’d need to deliver in order to attract those opportunities? A brand is a promise that creates a distinctive preference for you.

3. Create “proof points” that give tangible evidence of your brand delivering. Don’t just talk about your talent. Develop concrete processes, procedures, prototypes, or other results that demonstrate proof of your promise.
